15 Min Flight From Cornwall, We Found The Caribbean!
Our weekend family break with the boys on the Isles of Scilly luckily coincided with the hottest weekend of the year and I've heard people say the islands are like the Caribbean when the weather is sunny, but seeing is believing. It's all true...White sandy beaches, crystal clear waters, sub-tropical palms, exotic plants and gardens, heathery cliff path walks, sand tracks dotted with stalls selling fresh produce and freshly-landed seafood, jaw-dropping sunsets, the list goes on. Just stunning! The flight itself was an adventure in the 7 seater Skybus plane - Dylan our oldest sat in awe behind the pilot as we left the coast of Cornwall and arrived in the Isles of Scilly just 15 minutes later. We stayed on the island of St Martin's (a ferry ride from St Mary's) at the luxury hotel Karma St. Martin's and our travel arrangements arranged by www.islesofscilly-travel.co.uk - both were fantastic. Another worthy mention is the one and only pub on St Martin's - the Seven Stones Inn which must boast one of the best views across the sea to the other islands of any pub garden in the UK. We loved our stay on the Isles of Scilly and 100% will go back soon. Here’s a little video I put together from a weekend stay….
